Getting Your Windows Ready For Summer
Getting summer ready
It’s probably one of your least favourite jobs but once you see them sparkling in the sun you’ll soon realise it was worth it. Cleaner windows will let in more light and sunshine, which is perfect for the summer months. Often dubbed as a job that is time consuming and not very exciting, it’s something that shouldn’t be forgotten! We have a few helpful tips and some handy products to ensure that cleaning your windows doesn’t need to be so groan-inducing.
Window cleaning only needs to be carried out twice a year, so when you think about it, it’s really not that bad! Just make sure you do it well, and then you can leave them for another 6 months or so.
Use the right equipment
You’ll need all the right equipment to get started and ensure your windows will be spotless by the time you’ve finished. Having the right stock of equipment can make a big difference when it comes to cleaning, from your choice of sponges to other more advanced equipment.
Investing in scrapers or squeegees can help your window cleaning efforts, both making the process easier and actually cleaning your windows better than an average bucket and sponge. If you have hard to reach or awkwardly placed windows you may benefit from buying telescopic poles that adjust in length.
Cleaning windows effectively
Whether you are cleaning your office windows or just the windows in your home, you’ll want to do a good job and clean them effectively, or your efforts will have been wasted. Ensure you clean away any dirt or dust that may have built up on the windows or around the frames before you begin.
Once you’ve done this, you can use your cleaning solution or detergent by using a sponge or strip applicator depending on the size of your windows. It may be worth noting that bigger windows would benefit from using a strip applicator, plus you won’t scratch the glass in the process!
If you have invested in a squeegee, this will come in particularly useful for getting rid of any excess water on your windows. Use a reverse-S pattern to get the best results in clearing the windows of leftover water; you might want to use a cloth for the awkward corners and edges!
There is nothing worse than sunlight streaming through dirty windows, but with thanks to our range of products, hopefully you will have sparkling clean windows all year round!
